Motion Facts and Information

  1. To relieve motion sickness or sea sickness try and get lots of fresh air.

  2. Motion sickness is a conflict between your senses. A fluid filled canal in your inner ear that controls your sense of balance tells your brain that your body is moving, while your eyes, looking into the cabin of the boat, tells your brain that you are not moving. That conflict can cause your body to be out of balance, and we know how the digestive system feels about that.

  3. To prevent motion sickness or sea sickness or altitude sickness: Avoid strong odors and spicy or greasy foods immediately before and during your travel. Medical research has not yet investigated the effectiveness of popular folk remedies such as soda crackers and & Seven Up® or cola syrup over ice.

Techniques to reduce motion sickness, seasickness, and altitude sickness: The Night before the trip, Lack of sleep, hangovers and upset stomachs are wrong way to start a trip and to avoid motion sickness. Therefore careful eating the 24 hours before the trip is wise and will help to reduce the chance of motion sickness. Therefore avoid a heavy and or fatty meal, one with lots of spices, chicken and fish or anything that is old or a little suspect, like takeaway foods late at night.
