  1. It is not known why some people develop motion sickness, seasickness or altitude sickness and others do not. Motion sickness is more likely to be seen in young people, women, and people of Asian ancestry. Those who are fearful and anxious during a trip, or who more frequently experience nausea or vomiting, may also be prone to motion sickness.

  2. Snacks or crackers a little and often during the trip will also help to reduce motion sickness.

Your sensory perception gets out of synch as these nerve fibers attempt to compensate for the unfamiliar motion of the ship moving through water.
